A new template for 2010. The change is mainly for cosmetic reasons, though the old design isn't being updated any more. Still, we could go back if anyone really objects. The new template is a bit bigger and heavier, so if there are loading problems I'll change back. I've also seen it crash a few times, though not recently. Any problems, post them in the Forum. Profiles definitely don't work any more but no one used them anyway.

Not too many pictures of yesterday's cricket around with an elongated weather front crossing the county and hitting almost everywhere so here's a few from earlier in the season. Andy and Joel Garner above and two unknown Australians with a very famous West Indian below,

If you bought your PC in the last three years, this is what you should be using to browse the web, NOT Internet Explorer. Make sure you download the British English version.

Unlike other browsers which have got bigger and bigger, hogging more and more memory, Firefox 3 is quicker than its predecessor and more compact. I'm sick of Internet Explorer misbehaving, just stopping sometimes and I'm really bored with all its little quirks. It can't position the slide show on the front page correctly because it doesn't interpret the style sheet for the upcoming events correctly, for example. Firefox is more secure against malware and other nasty Internet tricks, can be made to look exactly how you want it to look and has some wonderful add-ons because it's open-source (anyone can write code for it).

Internet Explorer doesn't even come second. Opera is much better but doesn't work with play-cricket because ECB decided not to let it.

The first in a series that proves however bad you think things are, they could always be worse. You could, for example, be related to the author of this book.

2008- God's Final Witness

The Prophesied
End-Time Revealed

From now until the latter part of 2008, many prophecies are going to begin to be fulfilled, especially the Seven Thunders of the Book of Revelation, which the apostle John saw but was restricted from recording. Those thunders are revealed in this book, as well as detailed accounts of the final three and one-half years of man's self-rule on earth, which are recorded in the account of the Seventh Seal of Revelation.

Some of these prophecies concern the demise of the United States over the next year, which will be followed by man's final world war. This last war will be the result of clashing religions and the governments they sway. Billions will die! This time will far exceed even the very worst times in all human history.

As these events unfold, the world will increasingly become aware of the authenticity of the words in this book and realize that Ronald Weinland has been sent by God as His end-time prophet.

This book is primarily directed to the people of the three major religions of the world (Islam, Judaism and Christianity), whose roots are in the God of Abraham. Ronald Weinland has been sent to all three.

Can someone tell me what this shot is called?

Well I bet Didier Drogba, when he finally got his loser's medal in the dressing room, was thinking "if I hadn't flicked out at Vidic at just the wrong moment, I'd have taken the fifth penalty and I'd still be out on the pitch celebrating and all the egg would be on Ronaldo's face now".

The margin between failure and everlasting glory is that thin.

But letting yourself go because something on the pitch has annoyed you can never be sensible even when it doesn't make such a big difference. So don't.

The rule is leave the pavilion as you find it. After our first two full weekends, our valiant cleaning staff have had a cause for complaint on both weekends. This makes your new Chairman more?apprehensive than good results for Folkestone the weeknd before they visit us.

Please make certian, when you are locking up, that (almost all )dishes are put away in the kitchen and that (almost all) glasses are washed and stacked and that the whole indoors doesn't have a problem with spills, litter and things left out or in the way.

I think a few stones lobbed at the riot police would have made this justabout perfect.
Health & Safety intervening again, no doubt.

After a particularly sweaty and angst-ridden start to the season it was a pretty amazing first day. July weather resulted in the bar selling out of ice cream and lollies and if we'd had any After-Sun behind there we'd have sold out of that as well.

At The Park we won our first toss, put Yalding in the field and watched as the scoreboard spun round rapidly to an amazing first innings total of 275 on a wicket on which most people thought 150 would be very difficult to chase. Andy Allon got his first ton under his belt at the first time of asking, George and Pup got their first Park runs, a pretty good performance all round.

Onlooking was an HPB guest from Lancashire, once one of the higher ups in the County Club management who had some nice things to say about the ground and was especially flattering about Hobbo's lightning stumping off Smuggler's bowling. Yalding were never on the rate but managed some lusty strokeplay and kept us entertained.

What could be better? How about the 2s beating Elham? Yep, to round off the perfect day, in the last over, the 2s clinched satisfactorily large win over our nearest neighbours.
