Brilliant I am finally able to write a positive report after this game.
We were stuck in on a typical park track, I was really happy with this as it was boiling hot and was easily I felt a 250, 280 track. Payney batted very very well and was striking the ball nicely as was Beej and they both made good starts and started to put on a partnership, payney was given out lbw for a good 35 and it just didnt look out no matter where you stood. Beej then played one too many shots and was caught for a good 31, he was on for a big score if he got his head down a bit more. Still positives as we got a partnership going. We then lost a couple of quick wickets TK looked good again, but played a full toss back to the bowler. It ended up us being about 97 for 5 shortley after drinks at 25.
In comes Rajput and myself, after an edgey start I started to get going as did shah and no matter where they bowled we got hold of them. Shah played a typical shah innings and punished the bowlers, it was a real pleasure to be watching it from the other end, in the end he went in the 44th over for a fantastic 86. I continued in what was a horrible atmosphere, mainly due to the fact that there umpire decided to get to involved in the game and felt it necssary to take a disliking to me for some reason or other and had a big chip on his shoulder. Still this made it even more important for me to stay there and not give my wicket up, I was out in the 50th over for 104 very happy, but I was caught on the boundary when the fielder was over the boundary! but there great umpire had it in for me so gave me out, even though a spectator and one of there fielders said he was over the rope! We finished on 299 for 7 after 50. Good effort all round.
They started there innings and from the start shut up shop and were not going for it, there opener scored a good 60 ish and was eventually caught, a couple of other wickets fell and that was it. Grovesy and Beej bowled very well as did shah who was very unlucky. But again the game was ruined by this umpire, he was never going to give us any decisions, there was a run out that was out, not out the call he did not even move to see it! 3 lbw's not given and 2 of them were the plumbest I have seen in a long time. It was a shame really because the majority of them were a good bunch, and they all stayed for drinks after which was really good to see.
Still we walked away with a winning draw and a lot of positives from the game. Onwards and upwards next week lets get a good run going now.
