Well, I think 6 out of 10 would be about right for the computer. Worked very well in the first innings, got stuck in the second and then it just became a bit too difficult catching up. Still the stats and analysis is nice. You can see all that on our Total Cricket Scorer Page. So the experiment will continue to next week. Live scores won't work until we get Internet tethering and iPhones sorted out. Hopefully next week.

Very exciting game.

We won the toss and decided to bat on what had to be the hottest day of the year so far, it looked a decent track and 240 looked a reasonable score. Payney and Osborne getting going and looking good and sadly both of them were given out LBW and from where we were it looked a little dodgy, particulary Osborne's as he smashed it! (so he says). JK and Carbo then got things going and a great partnership started, JK hitting the ball nicely on what was at times a difficult pitch. Carbo was given a life when on 32 and then went on to punish them for that scoring a well deserved 70, JK continued,  did his job and saw the innings through scoring a superb 98* and was very well supported by Lodgey and DS getting us up to 255 for 5.

Tomorrow at 8:45am and again on Saturday morning around the same time there'll be a short feature on Sibton and the season so far. It's part of new regular kmfm coverage on local sport. Look out for it. Called Sportsferret it's on kmfm 96.4

We lost the toss and were asked to field first, fairly happy with this looking at the overhead conditions coming in from the valley and also a slightly damp track to start off.

Tidy and heathy started things off, heathy looking good until his arm went again meaning an early bowling change. Tidy bowled superbly, on the spot, swing and troubling the batsmen, bowling right through and picking up 4 wickets for not many. Carbo came on and after finding his areas bowled sharp and troubled the batsmen picking up 2 wickets. Joe Fowler picked up one and bowled nice tight lines deserving more than the one wicket. Tuggers made his bowling debut and quickly found where to pitch it, picking up 3 wickets and bowling good areas with turn. Our fielding was top draw, a vast improvement from last year, think Dobbo could have something to do with this. Only one gripe and that was all the extras, 30 in total, 20 of them wides! we must tighten that up. Other than that very very happy, canterbury all out 156 of 41.

The Butts at Sandwich was the venue for the first game for the newly-formed Sunday Development X1 – and when the fixtures were put together at the beginning of the year, this was always going to be a tricky start.

Despite email traffic with the oppo confirming the Development X1 concept and 2 phone calls just to make sure, we found ourselves facing 5 1st X1 and 4 2nd X1 Kent League players and 2 youngsters, both of whom represent Kent in their age groups ! But we were determined to represent the Club in a proper manner – and that is exactly what the guys did !
