We won the toss on what looked a typical Canterbury deck, 250 plus looked the par score, we got off to a poor start losing the top 3 very cheaply, Joey and washer batted well and steadied the ship. Joey scored a good 35, a little disapointing as he looked settled for a decent score of 50+. Jordan batted positivley and again showed he has massive potential, chipping in with a good 20 odd. Others have also chipped in with a few, Rajput finally scoring some runs with a good 30 at the end to take us up to 208 for 7 of 50. 40 runs short on that deck really, but backed ourselves to push a result our way anyway.

A strange game that was made to look comfortable.

Fielding first, we kept it tightish with no early breakthroughs despite a couple of chances. At 3 or 4 an over Canterbury were comfortable without loss. Meersie made the breakthrough and shortly after Snowman too. Both bowled very well to pick up a couple of wickets each. At 140 for 4 Canterbury looked like they would make a decent total but they lost 6 wickets for 30 runs when they were all out for a below PAR 170 on a flat low wicket. Gareth and Snowman bowled real mature spells with AA mopping up with 4 wickets.

In reply, a rather dejected looking Canterbury did their best but AA and Bishy looked like they were hitting beach balls as not a single chance was given till AA & Bishy had both passed 50 and AA was on 90. Much to the disappointment of the crowd AA fell 3 short of his 100 after a brilliant brilliant knock. Hobo and Bej fell annoyingly & quickly to leave Payno to hold up his end whilst Bish knocked the winning runs for 74 not out.

A convincing win indeed. May be a few four ball gifts sneaked in but all in all and good solid performance. (Oh and a handy catch by Snowman one handed over his head!)

Tough tough really tough, away V table topping Blackheath - just two points behind. Now is the time to step up.

The Sibton/Elham derby is always a hard fought affair, and this game was no different. We batted first on a reasonable wicket but soon became a little tied down because of some tight Elham bowling.

We lost the toss and surprisingly they put us in to bat, this seemed to be a good choice for them. We started of very poorly, batsmen getting themselves out to accurate bowling that was wobbling a little but in all fairness we should have seen it through. I think at one stage we were 40 for 4, as usual though it has fallen to carbo to step up again, he has continued his good form and made a great 64. Our new young superstar Jordan Anderson Laing, supported Carbo better than I could ever imagine, to be fair I would have been very happy with 200 with the start we got.

Always going to be tight at Ashford, on a tricky pitch to score on after the ball got less hard!!

Batting first Ashford got off to a flying start as we were looking down the barrel of minimum 280, as they were 70 for 0 off 8 overs.

Meersie tightened it up and bowled well for his wicket before spin twins AA and George bowled exceptionally well, after some important dropped catches, to restrict Ashford to 175. George picked up 4, AA 2 and Rowey mopped up the end with 3. Really a phenomenal effort by the above mentioned bowlers.

In reply we got off to a good start, as the ball was hard. However, the task got harder as Bishy fell for 38, and the ball got softer, with Hobo and Ben removed in quick succession after Bishy, and AA continued to battle hard. Teggy bowled well for Ashford and kept it tight as did Simon Taylor who both picked up wickets, and AA later succumbed for a hard fought 32. George and Payno took up the fight as Taylor and Tegg bowled out and needing 60 off the last ten overs it was game on. George played a superb innings to get his fifty and Payno some good shots but unfortunately was out for 26, with 14 required to win off the last 4 overs. Wrenny went 2 nd ball leaving Rowey to crack a six and a four to win with just over 2 overs to spare. (Fortunately we bowled Ashford out before 50 overs were up so we gained 3 extra overs) George finished unbeaten on 58 red, a match winning and well craft knock - Deserves some big praise for bat & ball.

A good and important victory, as many other funny results around us appeared.

Canterbury next week at home, so here we go again.
