Very successful day on Wednesday, July 11th.

Our own Georgina White with Jo Watts

In the morning,we opened the new Junior Ground officially with guests from KCB, KSDU and Chance to Shine. England star Jo Watts bowled the first ball and Jamie Clifford, rather flukily we all thought, hit it to the boundary. However it only took another two balls for Jo to find middle stump.
We didn't have the weather as we did last year, when the Chance to shine Festival was played on the hottest day of the year, but we had 8 teams and an exciting day. Simon Langton, with 3 county players, and one of the most talented young bowlers in Kent carried all before them. Jo even joined the losing finalists for the last over, to no avail.

Simon Wren did a fantastic job taking pictures of the event. If you were there, there will certainly be more than a few you will like. You can get prints by emailing Simon directly.

Dennis Cullum, gave up most of a day to record the event on video. There are two versions, both availale as streaming video on the left. You won't be able to see them in Firefox as Windows needs an ActiveX control to stream video.

If your link can't cope there is the youtube video, with it's mushy compression and artefacts, available below (you'll need to have Shockwave Flash installed for that one).
