Against a truly weakened side we should have been more convincing in the field as in the end, Stacians bowling attack despite having players missing wasn’t so bad.
  We got off to another poor start, with Dom bowling well his opening partner let the side down at the other end bowling too short and too wide on occasions, six an over off the first six overs is unacceptable I’m afraid.
However we did pull it round with Heathy removing the top three, in between some four balls, and Lawsie making it difficult to score. Andy Allon used his wide experience and tied up the batsmen and took wickets, likewise Bear when he eventually bowled himself! When the catches came they were held apart from a few very difficult ones at slip and to Hickers off Lawsie (virtually a full toss off the edge I think!) Stacians got 30 or 40 more than they should of as we were at times lazy even conceding runs because of no backing up behind the stumps and other occasions. Stacians finally reached 172 in the 49th over.
  In reply we got off to a bad start losing AA early and others got starts but seemed to got their shot selection wrong and chased the wrong ball. We did seem impatient whilst batting as it proved when Martin and Bear got to the wicket they played/blocked the good ball, on occasions a push got four as the outfield was quick, and punished the bad balls, however we did get the required result when Ross smacked the leg spinner for four in the 35th over, a good point in which was made in that we made too much of what we thought the leg spinner was going to do rather than play it on its merit.
A win all the same, it is important we keep going as best as possible, and I hope we will all be revved up ready for the game next week.
